Waterford FFA Urban Team headed to National Soil Competition | News, Sports, Jobs

Waterford FFA Urban Team headed to National Soil Competition | News, Sports, Jobs


The Waterford FFA Urban Soil Judging group is headed to Oklahoma, after collaborating in three completely different soil judging contests that lead them to turning into the most effective soil judging groups in Ohio.

The first competitors was the Washington County Soil Judging Contest which was organized by the Washington County Soil & Water Conservation District and was hosted by the Marietta FFA Chapter.

The Rural group positioned 1st in county and group members consisted of Dalson Greene, Kaylie McCutcheon, Brandon Hvizdzak, Nathan McDougle and Easton Schaad. Greene positioned 2nd and McCutcheon place third within the county individually.

The Urban group positioned 1st in county and group members consisted of Emma Hartline, Allison Huck, Cole Hansell, Katelynn Valadingham, Maddie Hansell and John Klintworth. Hartline positioned 1st, Huck positioned 2nd and Cole Hansell positioned third individually within the county. Both the Rural and Urban Soil groups have been acknowledged on October nineteenth on the annual Washington County Soil & Water Banquet for his or her efforts.

The second competitors was the District 10 Soils Contest which was held in Jackson County. The Rural group consisted of Dalson Greene, Kaylie McCutcheon, Brandon Hvizdzak, Easton Schaad and Nathan McDougal. Out of 86 complete contributors, Greene positioned third, Hvizdzak positioned eighth, McCutcheon positioned thirteenth, Schaad positioned twentieth and McDougal positioned twenty sixth.

The Urban group consisted of Cole Hansell, Emma Hartline, Allison Huck, John Klintworth and Maddie Hansell. Out of 41 contributors Cole Hansell positioned third, Hartline positioned 4th, Klintworth positioned fifth, Huck positioned tenth and Maddie Hansell positioned seventeenth.

Both the Rural and Urban groups superior to the State Soils contest on October eighth which was held on the Franklin County Metro Parks in Lockbourne, Ohio.

The Rural group positioned 12thth total out of fifty groups. Team members included Dalson Greene, Brandon Hvizdzak, Kaylie McCutcheon and Easton Schaad.

The Urban group positioned 4th total out of fifty groups from throughout the state of Ohio. Team members included Cole Hansell, Emma Hartline, Allison Huck and John Klintworth. Hansell lead the group inserting ninth with Hartline inserting tenth individually out of 165 contributors. The Urban group has now superior to the National Soils Contest that’s to be held from May 2nd to the 4th in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

This can also be the fourth time (2014, 2019, 2021) in its historical past that the Waterford FFA Chapter has superior to the National Soils contest. This is the primary time for the chapter to advance to Nationals in Urban Soils.

Both groups have been coached by Mr. Clay Hansell and Mr. Matt Hartline, FFA Advisor.

The Waterford FFA Urban Soil Judging group is taking any donations in the direction of the bills of the journey to the National Soils Contest that’s to be held in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
