The second match of the continued ICC Men’s T20 World Cup turned out to be a thriller as Netherlands edged previous UAE by three wickets in the ultimate over.
After opting to bat first, UAE struggled with the two-paced nature of the pitch, with Muhammad Waseem (41 off 47) top-scoring in their 111-8. Bas de Leede pitched the ball in proper areas and claimed three wickets in the nineteenth over to end with 3/19, whereas Fredrick Klaassen scalped 2 for 13.
In reply, Netherlands made a fast begin, racing to 37-1 in 4 overs. But they misplaced common wickets thereafter.
