Texas governor owes Kemp BBQ, beer after bet on championship game – 95.5 WSB

Georgia Governor Brian Kemp was so assured the Bulldogs would win the nationwide championship game, he was prepared to bet on it.

Texas Governor Greg Abbott tweeted a problem to Kemp Monday morning, wagering “some of the best BBQ in Texas” and a chilly Lone Star beer that the TCU Horned Frogs would win.

Kemp accepted the wager and responded he’d ante up “some delicious chopped pork & Brunswick stew” from Fresh Air Bar-B-Que.

“Tell them to fire up that smoker, Governor. Our Georgia Bulldogs are bringing home that trophy tonight!” Kemp stated.

No. 1 Georgia gained the 2023 College Football Playoff National Championship in record-setting style Monday night time, overpowering No. 3 TCU in a dominant 65-7 victory.
