Two conferences are developing this week hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife in the realm.
The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service workplace in Randall County will conduct the annual Producer Pre-Plant Meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25 on the Kuhlman Extension Center, 200 N. Brown Road in Canyon.
“The pre-plant conference is extremely valuable for our producers,” mentioned J. D. Ragland, Ph.D., AgriLife Extension agricultural and pure sources agent for Randall County. “Producers can learn about the results of last year’s studies and trials, as well as hear about management decisions that can increase profitability this season.”
The program is free with sponsorship from Happy State Bank. Texas Wheat Producers Board is sponsoring the midday lunch. Attendees are requested to preregister by 5 p.m. Monday, Jan. 23 by calling the AgriLife Extension workplace in Randall County at 806-468-5543.
Three Texas Department of Agriculture persevering with schooling items shall be supplied, two normal and one legal guidelines and laws for the hour-long auxin coaching. The program will embrace the next matters and audio system:
- Irrigation – Key Factors in Concentrating on Few Acres, David Parker, Ph.D., water engineering specialist with AgriLife Extension and West Texas A&M University.
- Dryland Crop Practices for Profitability, Craig Bednarz, Ph.D., crop physiologist with Texas A&M AgriLife Research and West Texas A&M.
- Wheat Update/Recap 2022 Season and Outlook for 2023, Darby Campsey, Texas Wheat Producers Board, Amarillo.
- 2022 Randall County Sorghum Trial Summary – Adams Farm, Ragland.

Then, on Thursday, Jan. 26, the annual Right-of-Way, ROW, and the Ornamental and Turf, OAT, Conference, hosted by Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service, shall be held on the Texas A&M AgriLife Research and Extension Center, 6500 W. Amarillo Blvd. in Amarillo.
The ROW and OAT conferences shall be held collectively, starting with registration at 8:30 a.m. and concluding at 3:30 p.m. The AgriLife Extension workplaces in Deaf Smith and Potter counties are hosting the occasion. The registration payment is $25. Lunch shall be “on your own,” in line with a news launch.
Producers shall be required to have their Texas Department of Agriculture pesticide numbers on the sign-in sheet to obtain persevering with schooling items. Five CEUs shall be supplied – three normal, one legal guidelines and laws, and one built-in pest administration.
The program will start at 9 a.m. with the next matters and audio system:
- Laws and Regulations in Right-of-Ways, Cheryl Goswick, Texas Department of Agriculture inspector, Amarillo.

- Respirator Safety, Tony Perez, Verseris gross sales consultant, Dallas.
