Six Oklahoma State players named to All-Big 12 football teams; Daniels tabbed Defensive Freshman of the Year

STILLWATER, Okla. — Oklahoma State football landed six players on the 2022 All-Big 12 football groups, which have been introduced by the convention on Wednesday afternoon. Safety Jason Taylor II earned first-team honors, whereas fellow security Kendal Daniels was named Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.

Five Cowboys earned second-team recognition, together with defensive lineman Brock Martin and Collin Oliver, linebacker Mason Cobb and place kicker Tanner Brown. Daniels was additionally named to the All-Big 12 second workforce.

In addition, Oklahoma State had eight players on the honorable point out checklist for his or her performances throughout the 2022 season: Tyler Lacy (DL), Jabbar Muhammad (DB), Jaden Nixon (KR/PR, ORoY), (*12*) (WR), Spencer Sanders (QB), Jake Schultz (FB), Jake Springfield (OL) and Hunter Woodard (OL). Taylor ranks tied for first amongst all FBS players and led the Big 12 with six interceptions throughout the common season. He completed as the second-leading tackler for Oklahoma State with 87 whole stops, together with 72 solo tackles, which is tied for second most in the nation by any place and tops by a security.

Daniels, a redshirt freshman, noticed his first vital motion this season. He recorded 69 whole tackles, three interceptions, three cross breakups and compelled a fumble. Among freshman defensive players in the Big 12, Daniels had a convention excessive in interceptions, tackles, solo tackles, passes defended and tackles for loss.

Daniels is the second Oklahoma State participant in two years to earn the Big 12 Defensive Freshman of the Year Award, following fellow classmate Oliver, who acquired the honor following a formidable season in 2021.

Martin earned All-Big 12 honors for the second time in his profession after making the first workforce in 2021. Martin totaled 37 tackles, 9.5 tackles for loss and three sacks.

Oliver is now a two-time second-team All-Big 12 honoree after recording 27 whole tackles, 7.5 tackles for loss, 5 sacks and a team-high 12 quarterback hurries this season.

Cobb earned second-team honors after his first full season as a starter at linebacker for Oklahoma State. He led the workforce and was fifth in the Big 12 in whole tackles with 96 stops, which included 58 solo tackles and 13.0 tackles for loss, which ranks second-most in the Big 12 this season. is the second highest mark in the Big 12.

Brown acquired second-team honors after changing on 21 of 22 discipline purpose makes an attempt this season. He led the Big 12 in field targets made and discipline targets made per recreation. Brown averaged 9.4 factors per recreation for Oklahoma State, which is second most in the Big 12 amongst all players, and leads all kickers in the convention.
