Oklahoma regulation enforcement are cracking down on intoxicated drivers this New Year’s vacation by manning DUI checkpoints all through Oklahoma and Cleveland Counties.
To guarantee Oklahomans security, Oklahoma Highway Patrol together with different regulation enforcement companies shall be conducting DUI and sobriety assessments.
During the 2021 New Year’s vacation, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported 479 non-fatal crashes statewide, 34 of which concerned alcohol or medicine.
“The variety of DUI associated fatalities on New Year’s Eve has declined over the past 5 years, and we want to see that development proceed,” OHP Trooper Eric Foster said. “Rideshare companies can be found, or you need to have a delegated driver to get you to and out of your location.”
Embark and OKC streetcar shall be providing free rides on Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.
