NETBIO celebrates 24 years of business

The Northeast Texas Beef (*24*) Organization (NETBIO) accomplished its twenty fourth yr of operation Friday with a barbecue luncheon and pre-conditioned calf and yearling sale.

NETBIO is a bunch of impartial cow/calf producers and agribusiness representatives – numbering over 800 members — who work collectively to boost the meat business in Northeast Texas. The group is acknowledged throughout the State of Texas and the Southeastern United States as a frontrunner in its respected providing of pre-conditioned cattle.

The anniversary sale and celebration started with a barbecue luncheon that was loved by a number of hundred producers, patrons, and buddies. Kelsey and her crew within the café ready an excellent meal.

Following the lunch, a brief business assembly was held throughout which era agribusiness board members Joe Don Pogue, Bo Dunlap and Christ Brown have been reelected and Chuck Smith was elected to the board. D. J. Carr was reelected to the producer board, whereas elected to that board have been Randy Walker, Tommy Stansell and Kurtis Mathias.

Following the business assembly auctioneer Joe Don Pogue started the sale of 5,774 head of pre-conditioned cattle. “It was a very good anniversary sale for the organization and offered a lot of good cattle, and a big crowd of folks attended,” Sulphur Springs Livestock Commission co-owner and NETBIO board member David Fowler mentioned.

“The market was good all the way around and there was lots of activity on the Internet,” Fowler added. Fowler mentioned 1,677 head of cattle bought to patrons over the Internet.

A complete of 230 producer/members of NETBIO consigned cattle to the sale and did their standard nice job of pre-conditioning their cattle and getting them prepared for the sale. Demand was good, and the cattle bought to 34 patrons for a median of $936.60 per head.

Those who missed this anniversary sale have a possibility to attend one other NETBIO sale on the Sulphur Springs Livestock Commission on Friday, December 16.

Due to the elevated demand, the Northeast Texas Beef (*24*) Organization {NETBIO) added the December sale to its schedule. Sulphur Springs Livestock Commission is now taking consignments for this extra sale that will likely be held on the Livestock Commission starting at 1 p.m. Just name the Livestock Market at 903-885-2455 to consign your cattle and order your tags.
