LAUDERDALE LAKES, Fla. – The homicide of a retired Broward Sheriff’s Office sergeant’s 29-year-old son remains unsolved about 12 years later in Lauderdale Lakes.

According to a statement BSO launched on Wednesday, Detective David Towsley believes Marquel “Quel” McCormes, the son of retired BSO Sgt. Bernard McCormes, used to be the sufferer of a theft long gone unsuitable.

Marquel McCormes wore a big gold chain pendant when he went to the then-FME nightclub on Sept. 1, 2012. He wore it after leaving the nightclub and to a pal’s house.

Marquel McCormes allegedly staggered into the home and collapsed at the kitchen ground, at 3540 NW 24 St., ahead of Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spoke back.
