Multiple surveillance movies captured the meteor’s sights and sounds early Friday morning. People posted movies reporting seeing a big fireball and accompanying sonic increase.
Since then, skilled meteorite hunter Roberto Vargas and a gaggle of meteor fanatics have spent days looking for pieces.

2 News Oklahoma joined the group Monday as they continued looking for fragments of the meteor.
“The Doppler radar stated there must be right here… We’re out right here looking…we’re discovering rocks,” said meteorite hunter Steve Arnold.
Vargas is among the few who have found a piece of Thursday’s meteor.
“I looked down, and I just couldn’t believe it,” Vargas stated. “I just bent over and picked it up and sure it was a meteorite.”
