Man looking for Frisbees killed in suspected alligator attack at Florida park, police say



A person looking for Frisbees alongside a Florida lakeshore was discovered useless Tuesday in an incident police are investigating as a doable alligator attack, authorities stated.

The 47-year-old sufferer’s identification was not instantly launched after the incident at Taylor Lake in John S. Taylor Park, Largo police and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission stated in statements.

“At this time, detectives believe the victim was looking for frisbees in the water and a gator was involved,” Largo police stated. “There are posted signs of no swimming in the lake.”

Florida Fish and Wildlife trappers rushed to the scene, about 5 miles south of downtown Clearwater, officers stated.

A digital camera crew from NBC affiliate WFLA of Tampa was recording when trappers tracked down and eliminated an alligator from the water Tuesday night, the station reported.

The reptile was euthanized, and a necropsy can be carried out to find out if it was concerned in the attack, WFLA stated.

Florida Fish and Wildlife stated in an announcement, “Our sincere condolences go out to the family and friends of the deceased.”

The park is house to a disc golf course the place flying discs are thrown into baskets. As in golf, the participant who wants the fewest variety of throws to place a disc in every basket alongside the course wins.

Some park regulars informed WFLA it is not uncommon to see individuals fishing in the water for discs that went off-course, regardless of the park’s warnings that recommend mortal hazard may exist beneath the floor.
