Man charged with kidnapping missing Memphis jogger Eliza Fletcher


A person has been charged with kidnapping a lady who went missing whereas jogging close to the University of Memphis on Friday, police stated.

Cleotha Abston, 38, “has been charged with especially aggravated kidnapping and tampering with evidence,” the Memphis Police Department assertion stated Sunday.

Eliza Fletcher, 34, “has not been located at this time,” the assertion added.

Investigators have been persevering with to seek for the mom of two who went missing early Friday morning, the assertion stated.

“This remains to be an active and ongoing investigation,” it added.  

In an earlier assertion police stated Fletcher’s private gadgets have been recovered. At the time of kidnapping, she was sporting purple jogging shorts and a pink prime.

On Saturday, relations, who name her Liza, launched a press release learn by Fletcher’s uncle, Michael Keeney.

“Liza has touched the hearts of many people,” he stated, noting an outpouring of help and goodwill for the avid runner and kindergarten teacher.
