Jack Campbell, 92, Hollidaysburg, died Sunday at Guardian Healthcare, Altoona. He was born in Hollidaysburg, son of the late Willard Leroy and Clara Alma (Raible) Campbell.
Surviving are 4 sons: Jody M. Campbell (Shelly) of Oklahoma City, Okla., Jack S. Campbell (Bonnie) of Duncansville, James C. Campbell (Candace) of Chandler, Okla., and Jerry A. Campbell (Debbie) in Wyoming; a daughter, Valerie A. Underwood (Chris) of Oklahoma City, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willard E. “Bill” Campbell (Nancy) of Hollidaysburg.
He was preceded in dying by 4 siblings: Sally Ann Neff, Constance Araneda, Nancy Hummel and Donald Campbell.
Jack attended Hollidaysburg High School. He was a graduate of Williamson Trade School with a level in masonry.
He was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the course of the Korean War in 1953. He then enlisted within the U.S. Air Force, serving in the course of the Vietnam period from 1967-68. Jack retired from the Air Force in 1976 as an teacher. He earned the rank of Master Sergeant.
Jack was a lifetime member of Duncansville VFW Post 8724, a lifetime member of Martinsburg VFW Post 43, the place he was a previous Commander, and was a member of American Legion Post 516 and Lodge #282 F&AM.
He loved fishing, looking and spending time together with his household.
Friends shall be obtained from 10 a.m. till the midday memorial service Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2022, at Brown Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., Duncansville. Interment with Military Honors will happen at Alto-Reste Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials could also be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
