SAN ANTONIO – Martha Garcia stated she may just slightly see around the 900 Block of San Eduardo Avenue Saturday evening.

“It’s got more and more smoke and you couldn’t even see the house anymore and then the flames start shooting out,” Garcia stated.

Two properties on San Eduardo Avenue on the West Side, only some blocks apart, stuck on fireplace on Saturday. One house used to be within the 900 block and the opposite used to be within the 400 block. No accidents have been reported at both area.

The San Antonio Fire Department used to be known as to the home within the 400 block first.

SAFD stated the reason for that fireside remains to be underneath investigation. It took 40 minutes for crews to put that fireside out, which led to a behind schedule reaction for the second one fireplace within the 900 block.

“It’s very freak nature that we see two structure fires on the same street just minutes before,” John Castillo, the SAFD Battalion Chief, stated.

Castillo stated the crews who would usually reply to the fireplace within the 900 block have been already tied up with the fireplace on the 400 block, so he and his workforce needed to look forward to surrounding fireplace crews to trip to San Eduardo to lend a hand out.

He stated the wear within the 900 block house used to be well-liked.

“It was significant throughout the house because of the timelapse of what we were waiting on,” Castillo stated.

By sundown, crews have been ready to put out each fires. Castillo stated the reason used to be most probably electric for the home within the 900 block.
