OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – The Oklahoma City Zoo and Botanical Garden says its latest member of the family lastly has a name of his personal.
The bouncing child boy was born Wednesday, September 7 at 3:42 a.m.
Caretakers have have spent the previous 20 days caring for him and attending to know him.
Now, they’ve settled on a name for the Zoo’s newest arrival.
Nzadi (pronounced Na-zadee) means ‘river’ within the Kongo language, a language spoken within the Democratic Republic of the Congo the place okapi are discovered.
Nzadi’s beginning marks the seventh okapi born on the OKC Zoo.
He’s the primary offspring for the okapi pair, Kayin and Bosomi.
The Oklahoma City Zoo is open from 9 a.m. to five p.m. every day, at $12 for adults, $9 for kids ages 3-11 and seniors ages 65 and over, and free for kids underneath 3.
