TALLAHASSEE (CBSMiami/NSF) – Gov. Ron DeSantis pointed Monday to abortion-rights protests outdoors the homes of U.S. Supreme Court justices as he introduced signing a measure supposed to forestall picketing and protests outdoors folks’s properties.
The invoice (HB 1571), which was accepted by state lawmakers in March and takes impact Oct. 1, will make it unlawful to protest outdoors an individual’s residence “with the intent to harass or disturb that person in his or her dwelling.”

The invoice will permit law-enforcement officers to cost folks with second-degree misdemeanors if they don’t peaceably disperse after being warned about protesting.
“Sending unruly mobs to private residences, like we have seen with the angry crowds in front of the homes of Supreme Court justices, is inappropriate,” DeSantis mentioned in a ready assertion.
