Florida’s Turnpike southbound blocked in Martin after fatal crash

MARTIN COUNTY — All southbound lanes of Florida’s Turnpike had been blocked Friday morning following a fatal crash involving three semi vans close to the Palm City exit, in line with the Florida Highway Patrol and Martin County Fire Rescue.

FHP was dispatched at 6:01 a.m. to the crash, which appeared to occurred north of the exit at State Road 714.

According to Martin County Fire Rescue, the crash concerned three semi vans, with every truck rear ending the one in entrance.

One driver, who died on the scene, was trapped. A second was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening accidents, whereas one other declined medical consideration, in line with Cory Pippin, Martin fireplace rescue spokesperson.

Martin fireplace rescue acknowledged that FHP indicated the roadway is predicted to be closed for five to six hours.

Items together with dried items, resembling herbicide, spilled in the crash, together with diesel gasoline.
