A Florida man strolling his dog Tuesday morning led deputies to an injured burglary suspect after recognizing a trail of blood leading inside his neighbor’s dwelling, authorities mentioned.
The dog walker instructed deputies that he found his neighbor’s home windows have been smashed and that there gave the impression to be blood on the entrance door, the Brevard County Sheriff’s Office mentioned.
Responding deputies entered the house and located a person, later recognized as 32-year-old Jonathan Leaf, mendacity on a mattress coated in blood, in response to authorities.
Leaf awakened as deputies have been inside and instructed them he “was unsure of the previous night’s events,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.
Deputies mentioned Leaf had apparently determined to interrupt a big bay window to achieve entry to the home.
“During his makes an attempt to get inside, Leaf’s arm was severely reduce by the damaged glass, leading to his trail of blood throughout the entrance of the residence and on the inside,” the sheriff’s workplace mentioned.

Leaf obtained stitches at a hospital earlier than being taken to the Brevard County Jail.

Leaf was charged with burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and legal mischief. His bond was set at $17,000.
