ON PLAYING IN A BASEBALL STADIUM:

“It’s been awesome. We missed a huge freeze back home. It’s been great, actually. Been eating awesome food. Seafood down here is incredible. In my opinion, just everything, the atmosphere, the resort we’re at. It’s been a blast. Can’t complain at all.”
ON THE CAMARADERIE OF BEING TOGETHER FOR A WEEK OF BOWL PREPARATION:
“That’s probably one of my things about the bowl game is hanging out with all the guys. Like he said, you put the work in all year, this is kind of like your week. We get a few days to just kind of hang out, relax, do all that. And then now it’s starting to click, ‘All right, it’s go time now.’ Getting excited.”
ON WHY JOHN PAUL RICHARDSON WAS VOTED A TEAM CAPTAIN:
“He’s a man who’s going to indicate as much as work day-after-day. That says lots about his character. How captains work with us, the coaches will decide one every week — or 4 of them every week — and on the finish of the yr, the gamers vote on the folks the coaches chosen.
“So that claims lots about how he’s with all the blokes on the staff, the management he brings. And simply the work he places in day-after-day. So he is doing every part proper. And you recognize, tremendous proud of him. It’s my first yr of being a captain as effectively. So it is a large deal and I’m actually glad to do it subsequent to him.
ON BEING A CAPTAIN HIMSELF:

“You are allowed to vote for yourself. I’m not really big into that. There’s a lot of other guys who were really, really close, within one or two votes.”
ON BEING RECRUITED BY WISCONSIN:
“I did get recruited by Wisconsin. Towards the top there, it was between Oklahoma State and Wisconsin. So they initially supplied me a grey shirt provide. My first semester there, I’d haven’t been on scholarship. They already crammed all their spots. And then after my first semester it could have been full scholarship the remainder of my time there.
“I took a go to up there with my good pal Nakia Watson, who performed up there. And he did his official and I simply variety of tagged alongside on an unofficial. Got to go up there. It was lovely and every part.
But simply on the finish of the day, determined to return to Oklahoma State and tremendous glad I’ve. Five years right here. It’s been unbelievable. Can’t complain in any respect.”
