‘Drunk’ Phillies fan sends Mattress Mack ‘over the edge’

Astros superfan Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale stated he was leaving the sport when a “drunk” man began hassling him about Altuve. His response was caught on video.

HOUSTON — It’s no secret that Gallery Furniture Owner Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale is obsessed with the Houston Astros. And it is no shock that the superfan is in Philadelphia to cheer for the ‘Stros as they battle the Phillies in the World Series.

But McIngvalle most likely wasn’t anticipating to go viral after a postgame encounter with a “drunk” Phillies fan was caught on camera.

“I was told they are the worst fans ever. I expected the best and I got the worst,” McIngvale advised us Wednesday.

He was leaving the sport after the Astros’ ugly 7-0 loss when he stated the “drunk guy” began hassling him about the 2017 dishonest scandal.

“When they said ‘Altuve’s a f—king cheater, he’ll never make the Hall of Fame,’ that sent me over the edge,” McIngvale stated.

He cursed at the man a few occasions and that is what’s proven on the TikTok video that is making the rounds on social media.

McIngvale stated he has no regrets about his response.

“I stand up for Houston when they’re right and I stand up for Jose Altuve,” McIngvale stated. “Jose is one of the greatest Astros of all time, he’s a great person and a great ambassador for Houston.”

Astros followers had been fast to defend McIngvale on Twitter.

Some followers steered displaying the video to the Astros to fireside them up for Game 4.

And even a couple of Phillies followers are defending McIngvale’s response.

But there have been some critics, together with lots of people who identified that McIngvale guess $10 million on the Astros to win the World Series. It’s a guess that would have a $75 million payoff, according to CNN.

McIngvale is in good firm in the case of reacting to the notoriously nasty Phillies followers.

Astros ace pitcher Justin Verlander was caught on digicam flipping the fowl when the Astros bus arrived at the ballpark earlier than Game 3 and once more when he was strolling inside. He later stated it was “all in good fun.”

“… Whole interaction was in jest as all the fans around you were just saying hello in their native tongue. So I responded in kind,” Verlander tweeted in response to a man who posted the video.

In one other video, Verlander signed a ball for a Phillies fan after which posed for an image with each of them flipping the fowl and grinning.
