CHOUDRANT, La. – University of Houston senior All-American Santiago De La Fuente and junior All-Conference megastar Wolfgang Glawe stood a few of the Top-Five leaders following the First Round of the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club on Sunday afternoon.
 
As a staff, the Cougars posted a rating of 1-over 289 to face in 5th. Central Arkansas held the First-Round lead at 279 whilst Louisiana used to be in 2d at 287. Louisiana Tech and Southern Miss have been tied for 3rd at 288.

The match continues with the Second Round starting Monday morning. Schools will play 18 holes on a daily basis thru Tuesday at the 7,105-yard, par-72 direction.

For Monday’s Second Round, the Cougars will compete in teams with student-athletes from Southern Miss and UT Arlington.
 
Schiergen will get started the day at 11 a.m., off No. 10 with Lindsay (11:10 a.m.), Weibel (11:20 a.m.), Glawe (11:30 a.m.) and De La Fuente (11:40 a.m.) following. Borow starts off No. 10 at 7:30 a.m., Monday.

UP NEXT
Following the Argent Financial Classic, the Cougars will compete in two other tournaments. Houston will compete as a staff on the Wake Forest Intercollegiate at Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Ill., on Sept. 18-19.
 
In a contemporary addition to the staff’s agenda, the Cougars will ship 4 student-athletes to compete as people on the Papago Individual Event at Papago Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., on Sept. 18-19.
 
From there, Houston will face Sam Houston in a 36-hole fit play match right through the Robert Steele Cup at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas, on Oct. 3. This is also a contemporary addition to the Cougars’ fall agenda.
