Construction on south Mesquite’s largest park will begin this summer

It’s official: plans are shifting ahead for what will be south Mesquite’s largest park but.

This week, the City Council awarded a development contract for the upcoming 11-acre Copeland Park, which will be constructed on undeveloped land at Creek Crossing Road and Mesquite Valley Road.

The first section of development will begin in late July, town stated in a news launch. The park, which will have essentially the most facilities of any park in southern Mesquite, will embrace a three-acre canine park with a leash-free zone, a parking zone and restrooms.

The canine park space will have lights, fencing, two separate sections for large and small canine, a shaded seating space, canine coaching agility gear and extra. The first section of development is anticipated to wrap up in fall 2022.

Future development on the park can also be anticipated to incorporate a playground, picnic pavilion, nature strolling trails and a twig pad.
