Community mourns loss of former Everman football player

EVERMAN, Texas — Friends and household gathered Saturday in Everman to grieve the loss of Corey Fulbright, a former football player who was paralyzed throughout a highschool recreation 20 years in the past.

In 2002, when Fulbright was 17 years outdated, he broke his neck and suffered a spinal wire harm after delivering successful within the 2002 UIL 3A state championship recreation. 

Twenty years later, Fulbright went to the hospital after his lungs collapsed whereas battling pneumonia. 

He died on Feb. 8 at 37 years outdated.

Fulbright’s funeral was held at Everman High School on Saturday. The group additionally honored Fulbright with a balloon launch at Johnson Park in Everman.
