DALLAS — The Supreme Court has denied former Dallas police officer Amber Guyger’s appeal over her homicide conviction within the taking pictures loss of life of Botham Jean in 2018, in accordance to a ruling Monday.

Guyger’s attorneys had argued in a petition for writ of certiorari that Guyger’s “rights to due process were violated” over a decrease court docket’s interpretation of Guyger’s self-defense and mistake-of-fact claims within the taking pictures.

The Supreme Court didn’t subject an opinion within the ruling Monday; Guyger’s case proceedings web page included an replace that the petition had been denied.

Guyger, 34, was sentenced to 10 years in jail for the taking pictures loss of life of Jean at his condo in September 2018. It was not instantly clear if Guyger had any additional authorized path within the appeals course of.

Guyger stays in a state jail in Gatesville. Her projected launch date is 2029, and he or she is eligible for parole in 2024.
