43 Texas billionaires make Forbes’ list of richest Americans

Forbes not too long ago launched its annual list of the 400 richest folks in America and 12 Texas-based billionaires made the highest 100.

Tech magnate Elon Musk, who relies out of Texas as of 2021, is the wealthiest man in America with a web price of $251 billion.

The subsequent richest Texan is Alice Walton with an estimated $55.7 billion. Her fortune comes from Walmart.

According to Forbes, the 20 folks at the very top of the list—the uppermost 5%—are price a staggering $1.6 trillion, accounting for 40% of your complete Forbes 400′s wealth.

Forbes notes that 42 folks both joined or rejoined the ranks this yr. Of these folks – the richest newcomer is Texas billionaire Autry Stephens who is available in at No. 63 general. Stephens is one of 19 billionaires on the list who made their cash in power.

To decide the rankings of the richest Americans Forbes stated some billionaires supplied documentation for his or her property and corporations whereas others have been much less forthcoming.

The richest folks in America vary in age from actual property mogul Ted Lerner and early Berkshire Hathaway investor David Gottesman, each 96, to 29-year-old Gary Wang, the co-founder of crypto change FTX.

Wang is one of ten billionaires on the list under the age of 40.
